FULL LABBAIK, ALLAHUMMA LABBAIK DUA WITH MEANING From the Sahih Hadith from Jami At Tirmidhi Book 9, hadith 18 we learn from Ibn Umar that the Prophet (saws) used to recite Talbiyah. The full transliteration of this dua is provided below: Labbaik Allahumma labbaik.
Allahumma inni as-aluka al-‘afwa wa’l-‘afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahummas-tur ‘awrati wa amin raw‘ati. Allahumma ihfazni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa ‘an yamini wa ‘an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa a‘udhu bi ‘azamatika an ughtala min tahti (O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and in the Hereafter.
“Labbaik allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal hamda wanaimat laka wal mulk.La sharika lak” (Here I am, O Allah here I am — here I am, you have no partner, here I am — Surely all praise, favor and authority belongs to you. You have no partner.)
This is an extremely comprehensive and rich Hadith of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم that reflects the core of the Islamic Faith. Imam Bukhari selected the first hadith, ‘Innamal a’malu binniyat’ of Sahih Bukhari as an introduction to the whole collection to show the sincerity of purpose of the author.
Another scholar said: What is meant by Labbayk is responding time after time, and what is meant by sa‘dayk is following time after time. Al-Muhallab said: Responding by saying yes and any other word that gives the meaning of yes is sufficient, but responding to the call of a master by honouring him and saying labbayka wa sa‘dayk is better.
